| -09/30/09-Well
the racing year is once again over. This year was not what the team
had hoped for, with early motor issues. The team did rebound for a
strong second half of the season. I have to thank everyone that helps
out both from the shop and from the stands. As of right now...The car
is for sale and next year is still up in the air. With Utica Rome
changing the sportsman rules, and the cost to move up to Modified out of our
reach, it might be a time to step back for a few years. I will post
any new information as I get it. It has been a great time the past few
years and we have met some great people. Thanks again for everything. -09/12/09-DNQ-Mods-With the sportsman segment of the New Yorker weekend rained out, Jeremy decided to try his luck again this year with the mods. Mark Schoonover made the trip to help out, but the rain kept the track heavy, and the big blocks proved to be too much. -09/06/09-11th-Jeremy and the crew had high hopes going into to nights racing action. The heat race went good, but the team was wondering what the track was going to do. In the feature the car was good moving into the top 5 until contact was made with the 39 car of Button and the left front spindle broke off, ending our night. -08/30/09-WIN-Well finally, after a long year, Jeremy and the crew hit on a set up tonight that was in a league of there own. Jeremy went out and won his heat race with a last lap pass of Mike Button, and then started 8th in the feature. Rain was in the air all night and the track was fast and a little rough. Just right for the 32v car. Jeremy took off right out of the gate and had the lead on lap 3. After a few cautions, Jeremy took the checkers with a full straight away lead. Maybe the team found something a little to late in the season. We will see what next week brings. -08/23/09-Rain -08/16/09-12th-After winning his heat race, Jeremy started 6th and was charging to the front when the car seemed to have some problems. Smoke was coming from the right rear tire and Jeremy then came in with a flat. The crew changed the tire but noticed that the rear end was broken as the car left the pits. Jeremy took one more lap and pulled in, to find the right rear end tube was broken. -08/12/09-4th-Another good run tonight for the 32v team. The motor seems a little lacking for right now, may some issue we have not found yet. Good night over all. -08/09/09-4th-ROC-Jeremy won his heat race, and redrew the 6th spot for the feature. The car started off ok and then got tight. Jeremy missed a wreck on the front stretch and ended then night with a good 4th place finish. This Wednesday is the make up race from the 2nd.. -08/02/09-Rain -07/26/09-2nd-Another good run for Jeremy and the team. The car was fast off the trailer and Jeremy quickly moved to 3rd from his 5th starting spot. After a few cautions, Jeremy caught and passed last weeks winner, and set after the 244. Jeremy was catching him at the end of the race, but time ran out. Another good run at the front for the whole team. See you this Sunday as it is only $7.00 to get into the stands. I'm sure it will be packed... -07/19/09-2nd-Finally a good finish and a night with out any issues for the 32v team. Jeremy went out and won his heat race with little pressure from any one. The car was handling well and the motor felt strong. Jeremy started 4th for the feature and got passed by the 52 car before getting into 2nd place. The race went green to checkers with no cautions and while the first two cars were running the same lap times, there was no chance to catch him. 2nd was a good finish for the team. Thanks to everyone for there support. -07/12/09-14th-Ok, writing all this bad news is getting old.. After a long week of hard work by many people, the back up motor was rebuilt and placed in the car on Friday. Final touches were put on the car on Sunday and the 32v was again at the track. It looked like the motor was good and Jeremy started 5th and was 3rd on lap 3 when a bolt broke on the drive pulley, letting the belt fall off, and not turn the power steering or the water pump. The car got hot and Jeremy shut it off on lap 3. Lets all hope for better luck this Sunday. Thanks to Paul Jensen for busting hard on our back up motor all week.. -07/05/09-11th-Well, what can I say. Jeremy and the 32v crew worked there tails off this week to get the car ready for the 4th of July weekend. The car was working great and the motor had good power, with Jeremy starting 7th and moving to the lead on lap #6. No one would pressure the 32v as we opened a 10 car lead when the caution would fly on lap 18. On the restart the 18j was side by side with Jeremy down the back stretch when something in the motor let loose. The back wheels just locked up and the field crashed into Jeremy. With the motor a complete loss, the team does not know about next week, or the rest of the year.. -06/28/09-9th-Jeremy finished 9th in the feature tonight after only 14 laps. Rain came in and the race was stopped. Jeremy started 5th and on lap 5 spun after contact with another car. He went to the back of the 23 car field and was 9th when the rain came. A major change is in place for this next week at Utica. This is the half way point of the season. See all of you at the races for the July 4th weekend..... -06/21/09-6th-The track was heavy and super fast tonight at Utica Rome. Jeremy started 9th and moved forward with a group of cars that seemed to switch positions two times each lap. Jeremy was scored as far up as 3rd once and then back to 6th. The car was good, but a little to tight and Jeremy lost his breaks for the last part of the race. The electrical issue seems to be fixed at least for now. -06/14/09-3rd-Jeremy was back looking good again tonight moving the 32v from a 9th starting place to 3rd in the feature. The crew did a lot of work during the week to try to help get the car up front. Things are looking a little better, and we still have a few small issues to get to the bottom of. -06/07/09-23rd-ROC-Well, not a great night for the 32v team. The car was good finishing the heat race 3rd after starting 7th. Jeremy then redrew for the feature and put us starting 3rd. As the green flew the car just did not go, and Jeremy had to take it into the infield. After making it into the pits, an electrical short was found and once we got it fixed we went back out to test the car for the last 10 laps. Jeremy was running good lap times and stated the car was pretty good. Just another week of bad luck at Utica. -05/31/09-6th-Jeremy and the crew changed the car this week to a set up that we knew a little better. The car was ok in the heat race as Jeremy searched around a bit on the track. A few changes were made for the feature where the 32v started 9th. After one lap the caution flew and Jeremy was in 7th. On the green flag, Jeremy moved to the bottom in turn one and contact was made as the 33x came down in to us. Jeremy spun into the infield and had to restart last. After a good charge and a long green flag run, Jeremy brought the car home in 6th. The car was much better this week and we still have one small change for Sunday. Thanks to the Casey Williams team for some help for this week. -05/24/09-9th-After a very good heat race win, the team ended the night frustrated to say the least. The car went backwards tonight in the feature with no changes done, other than tires. I don't have a clue as to why, and don't know what else to try. Sorry about the late update, but my computer was on the fritz. -05/17/09-4th-Another 4th place this week at Utica. Jeremy started 6th in the heat race and won the heat by half a lap. The 32v started 6th on the field in the feature and lead lap one before an early caution came out. On the restart the 244 took the lead and Jeremy's car was just not that great on the very slippery track surface. After 20 laps of slipping and sliding around, the 32v came home 4th. -05/09/09-4th-Victoria weekend put the sportsman teams at Utica Rome on a Saturday night for a change. Jeremy and the crew worked hard this week to try to find some issue that had the car off last week. With a few changes and an electrical problem fixed the 32v was back on track. Jeremy started 7th in his heat race and moved to 2nd. We started 8th in the feature and moved to 2nd just before half way. On a restart Jeremy lost one spot before getting back to the preferred line and then got edged out by the 18j right at the end. It was a strong run, and a few small changes will be made this week. Thanks to Matt Williams for the truck to haul the car this week and to all that helped out. -05/03/09-8th-Jeremy finished 8th tonight as the car just did not work good. After starting 9th Jeremy moved up to the 5th spot at one point in the race, but fell back to 8th at the end. "The tires just never came in tonight, it felt like it was driving on ice". This week we race on Saturday night for the Vic 200 weekend at Utica Rome. -04/26/09-5th-Jeremy and the 32v team finished 5th in the feature tonight, but the car was a lot better than 5th. Jeremy started 12th and quickly moved into the 7th spot before half way. After a late caution, Jeremy set sail on the outside and moved into 2nd. The #3 car was coming off the bottom of the track and letting it slide right up in front of the faster 32v car, causing Jeremy to get off the gas. With one lap to go, Jeremy again had a run on the 3 car but the 3 again moved up and pushed us off turn 3. Two cars went by on the bottom and 5th is where we ended at the line. Needless to say the team was not thrilled as we had the fastest car on the track and came home 5th. It was a great car again tonight so we shall see what next week brings. -04/19/09-3rd-Jeremy finished 3rd in the feature tonight after starting 7th. The car was working good, but we ran out of laps to catch the leaders. We would have liked to have a caution, but that is the way it goes. All in all it was a great run for the 32v team. Thanks to all that have helped out already. Keep checking www.dougsdirtdiary.com for a pre race interview with Jeremy. 04/11/09-The car was on display at Springfield Tractor for their open house all day. Many people came out to take advantage of the great deals, and good food. Racing will be starting this Sunday at Utica Rome.
