| -08-13-08-DNQ-Modified-Jeremy
had the 32v sportsman at Utica Rome for the 61 lap Richie Evans race, and
with all the rain the last few weeks the sportsman motor was not the right
tool for the job against the big blocks. The car handled great all
night, but was just under powered on the heavy clay. Thanks to
everyone that came out and supported us as we had fun racing tonight. -08-10-08-Rain-Jeremy and the team will be at Utica Rome this Wednesday to try to make the Richie Evans 61 lap race with the modifieds. Stay tuned right here for more information as it comes. -08-3-08-2nd-4th-Double features were on tap tonight as a rain out feature for the sportsman kicked off the night. Jeremy started in the 11th spot and moved quickly through the field to 2nd. A good run for the team. On to the regular night of racing, were Jeremy started 9th in the feature. The track was very slick, and hard to pass on, but the 32v moved into 3rd with one lap remaining. On the restart Jeremy spun the tires and the 33x got by. It was a good night for us with little or no damage to fix this week. Thanks to all that came out to watch racing tonight. -07-29-08-16th-ROC-Well off to Penn Can for another ROC race. Lady luck sure did not shine down on us tonight as Darrin Hicklings streak of good draws came to a halt, drawing # 99. Jeremy started last in the heat race and finished 6th. The 32v started 16th for the feature and Jeremy had a great car moving to 8th well before half way. Then our bad luck struck once again as the 10 car spun out right in front of Jeremy and he had no where to go. Jeremy went pit side to the crew who took most of the right side of the car off that was damaged and got the car back on the lead lap. But a flat tire brought the car back to the pits. Jeremy went out 2 laps down but passed his way right back to the front, and finished 16th. -07-27-08-3rd-ROC-Tonight was a great sportsman race to watch. Jeremy, Rocky Rothwell, and Brad Alger all changed positions on the last corner for the finish of the 40 lap event. The car was real good tonight, as a good draw through the gate again by Darrin Hickling put the 32v on the pole in the heat race. Jeremy led every lap of the heat and picked up the 5 bonus points for the win. The redraw for the feature was 3rd. Jeremy spun out on lap # 2 and went to the back of the field. At lap 17 the 32v was in the top 5. Jeremy ran 2nd for a while when the car hit a rut in the track and pushed up enough to let a car by. On the last lap, Jeremy went to the middle of 3+4 with Alger diving to the bottom and Rothwell on the top. Jeremy had a great run, passing Alger but Rothwell came down the track off of 4 causing both him and Jeremy to lift just for a second allowing the 78 of Alger to win the race to the checkers. -07-23-08-Mods-Rain-The car was all set for a shot with the Modifieds on Wednesday, but rain once again kept the cars off the track. This Sunday will be a 40 lap ROC race at Utica Rome. -07-20-08-Rain.-ROC Modified 61 lap race Wednesday, 07-23-08. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. The team may show up and try their luck with the Modifieds.. Stay tuned!! -07-14-08-Rain. -07-08-08-17th-ROC-The car was ok for the feature, but not a great night. More to follow...-it is 1:05am.---Ok, Crew man Darrin Hickling pulled #1 at the gate putting the 32v on the pole in the first heat race. Jeremy won the heat and picked up 5 bonus points for the tour. Jeremy then redrew 10 for the feature. The car was working good and Jeremy moved into 8th, when the 72 car decided to "move" us out of the way in turn 2. We lost a lot of spots and the night was full of misfortune after that. We had a good car, but could not show it in the feature. -07-06-08-3rd-Utica Rome with the ESS Super Sprints on a 4th to July weekend. The weather was great and a huge crowd was on hand to watch a full night of racing. The 32v had a "new" set-up in it for the hot laps and the heat race. After the heat the team decided to switch the set-up back to a more stable one. It seemed to work as Jeremy worked his way up to 3rd after starting 9th on the grid. It was a good run and a great race. The 32v is now in 4th place in points at Utica Rome. We have worked hard all day and night (thats why this is not updated until Monday night) to get ready for Five mile point on Tues night. -06-29-08-5th-Back to Utica Rome with the threat for rain and 8 features on tap.. The track was very, very slick for the whole night of racing as the show was pushed along with record speed. Jeremy started 7th in the feature and finished 5th. Jeremy made a move on the #1x car with two laps to go, giving him 3rd, and then some contact was made on the front stretch and two cars got by. Sprint cars will be at Utica Rome on Sunday and then it is off to Five Mile Point once again for an ROC 40 lapper on July 8th. -06-25-08-6th-ROC-The team pulled to Five Mile Point for stop number 2 on the ROC tour. A good draw through the gate would have been nice, but #76 out of 100 was the magic number. Jeremy started last in his heat and finished 4th, one spot out of the redraw. After starting 17th, Jeremy worked his way to 6th with a last lap pass of Joey Colsten. It was a good run, and the team took some notes to be a little better next time. -06-22-08-6th-Jeremy ran well in the heat race putting him 7th for the feature. The track was very slick with a full night of racing on it and little time for track prep. The car started out ok, and just fell off a little tonight. It is possible that we had some tire issues. We will check it out for next week. -06-15-08-Rain-With the weather man stating their was a zero percent chance of rain for Sunday, the stands were full at Utica Rome. Once again the weather was predicted wrong and the races were rained out after the heats. We will be running double features on the night of July13th. Jeremy is slated to start 11th in the make up feature. -06-08-08-5th-ROC-The night started off with Jeremy drawing 96 out of 100 numbers. Starting last in the 3rd heat, Jeremy quickly moved the 32v into 4th and into a redraw position. In the redraw, Jeremy's son Jack drew number 9. Not bad for what it could have been. On the drop of the green Jeremy was spun out and had to start in the back of the 30 car field. After lap 11 Jeremy had the car in 4th and looking for more. With 3 laps to go in the caution filled event , Jeremy was in 2nd and went a little high in turn 3-4 and ended up in 5th place. It was a great run for the entire 32v team. -06-01-08-2nd-Jeremy won his heat race and started 5th for the feature. After being shuffled back to 9th on lap 2, Jeremy worked his way to the lead and set sail. A red flag on lap 9 stalled the action as a wild wreck involving the 52 and the 04 was cleaned up. After going green again, the car was just not the same and Brad Alger got by on a restart. Jeremy held on for 2nd. With 4 races in, the 32v has not finished out of the top 5. -05-25-08-5th-Jeremy finished 5th after starting 7th. After lap one Jeremy had moved the 32v into 4th place. On a restart Jeremy and another car got together and we lost several spots. By the end of the feature the 32v was back up to 5th. "We could have had a little more gear in the car to get off the corner", stated Jeremy after the feature. All in all it was a good night. -05-18-08-Rain -05-11-08-No race for Sportsman. -05-04-08-3rd-After loosing a motor in week two, Jeremy and the whole team worked hard this week along with Precision Engine service, and got the motor back in the 32v. Jeremy finished a close 2nd in the heat race and after a great battle for the lead with race winner Casey Williams, finished the race 3rd. "We are out of the points race after last week, so I went for the win. We could have had second, but now we just want to win as many races as possible". Stated Jeremy after the race. -04-27-08-DNS-Jeremy and the crew worked hard all week to get the car handling better for this Sundays race. The car was working good on the track but did not seem to have the power it did last week. As soon as Jeremy took the checkered flag for the heat race a huge puff of white smoke came from the back of the car. We went home and pulled the motor to find a broken valve and a ruined motor. We will put the back up motor in for this Sunday and hope for the best. This is a very hard blow for the team heading into 2008. -04-20-08-4th-The 32v team started off the night at Utica Rome with hard luck. A flat tire in the heat race made the team start 14th on the grid for the feature. A special thanks to all that helped get the car ready for the feature as many changes had to be made. Jeremy drove a great race working his way up to 4th at the end of 20 laps. It was great to see a "team" effort to start the season. -04-04-08-The car is almost finished, with the body returning from getting lettered this weekend. The car and crew will be out at Springfield Tractor's open house on Saturday April 12th on the corner of Rt 80 and Rt 20. Stop by and say hi, and check out all the new tractors and mowers at Springfield Tractor. -03-04-08- Jeremy Vunk Motorsports would like to welcome American Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. as the main sponsor for the 2008 season. American Roofing is a company based out of West Winfield, NY and can handle any and all of your roofing needs. Call and let them know you saw them at the races! The car is assembled and the body should be back from being lettered very soon. Pictures will be added as soon as it is done.
